My younger brother is gay. Gay as laughter. Gay as the day is long. One of the finest moments in my life, and one of the greatest compliments anyone has ever paid me, was the day he felt safe to come out to me. He’s in his mid-30s now, but he’ll always be my little brother. And man, I love that kid.

we, as in Cheryl and myself are sort of going through the same thing just religion has not been brought into the picture. Just that someone close does not believe Cheryl and I should get married...they are "against" it. That hurts but opinions are opinions.

  1. It’s that ‘someone close to you’ that has the problem. Get married. They’ll either get used to the idea if they want you to be happy .. Or they won’t. Again, it’s their problem.

    • yep it is…and BTW…we have been together 15 years…we are the same people this person has known for 15 years…we are just getting married…no big deal! Thanks for you support!

I think marriage is a personal choice between two people who love each other to officially recognise that love, end of… Sadly some people feel obliged to apply all sorts of criterion and over complicate things, but at the end of the day they are not likely to change and it is their problem to sort out… So congratulations in advance to the two of you, not everyone finds their one true love but you both clearly have! x
