If you plan on riding up to the Dempster Highway…you need to stop in Dawson City….it’s an awesome place to eat, drink and meet many other ADV riders before you tackle the unpredictable DEMPSTER.

Cheryl and I rode out to the Vancouver Show Saturday to check out the latest and greatest. Not that we haven’t been keeping an eye out for all these great bikes but seeing them in person is always a treat. Riding out to the show we were confronted with our infamous FOG. Cold out and frosty, this fog makes it almost impossible to see. At times it freezes on your shield but the real nuisance is how the fog saturates your shield making you wish you actually had a wind shield wiper.
Both Cheryl and I agree riding in this type of FOG is not fun and we would rather be poured on versus this crap. Having said that, there were pockets where the sun broke through and the glare off the wet roads was blinding. Sun glasses came out, FOG rolled back in and it was like this to the show and back home. We only live about 40 minutes away from Abbostford but riding in this stuff makes it seem further. In the end worth it though, we get to park for free and right in front of the entrance. Anyone driving a cage by the time we got there, around noon had to park FAR away and paid!

We were not able to ski today but wanted too….being on call for work got in the way but we did manage to get out for a drive. How many places do you know where you can ski, play golf and eagle watch all in one if you wanted too? Dec. 30th 2012 we watched skiers, people playing golf and taking pictures of the eagles that are still around the Fraser River eating dead salmon.
Here is a few pics from a great day out! Again, we do believe we live in such a beautiful place here in BC. There are 4 ski mountains within an hour or so drive from our house and MANY golf courses. Weather was bright and sunny, around 3 C or 34-36 F.
This is what I saw and heard on Nov. 26th 2012. I was in the background of this great photographer Sasse (Make Sure you watch in HD)

At around 8am at a distance of about 500 yards these eagles could be seen from Kilby bridge across the Harrison River. Some interested people stopped and had a look as I was filming. ( I was one of the interested people

One thing that I do alone because Cheryl does not share this passion is every year I go out to Harrison Mills, BC to see the almighty Majestic Bald Eagle. I also ride out each year as well. On Saturday I counted 10 other bikes on the road, today only 1. Temps started out at 2 C or 34 F and got as high as 7 C or 44 F. Best time of year to ride, heated liner, gloves, good base gear, BUFF hoodie under my helmet and good socks. Awesome!
Since joining BC Transplant last January I really enjoy my time away from work. When we are busy managing cases for work it’s easy to put in 30 hours straight. The time I get to ride for fun and engage in my hobby like eagle watching is rare while off call. This was a great weekend!
More eagles today at Harrison Mills, BC. More dead salmon, got to ride my bike for fun…some sun, some rain but in the end a good day and great day to turn the heat on. Thanks to my heated liner and gloves!

I never really tell Cheryl enough how proud I am of her especially when I see her in the RCMP Serge. It’s sad to think tonight she is not celebrating in dress but standing guard for one of her colleagues who was killed last week while working. Constable Adrian Oliver, such a young man and short career has come to an end so suddenly.
For those who are stopping by our Blog for the first time, Cheryl is a RCMP Constable and this certainly is upsetting to the entire force!

While our post on puppies is getting 1000.s of HITS I hope you take a look at this too. All part of our Adventures in our life and this means a lot to us! Thanks! Cheryl & Leslie
Cheryl was behind making this video and she is in it as well….PLEASE share this video….it was made because Cheryl works with kids as a RCMP and is tired of seeing the bullying and suicides that happen over sexuality. This blog is followed by so many from all over the world….pass it on and help us get the word out…
“It Does get Better!” Thanks!
