I am honored to be invited to speak at PACIFIC MOTOSPORTS our BMW dealer.
Free food, KLIM there and the intro of the new BMW 1200GS, plus me! Cheryl is still in Ottawa but I get to share many pictures and stories about our Adventure riding endeavors! What would be better than being around like minded folks/riders….good food and a great dealer? Ummm…Cheryl being there but I think I can handle it!
Hope some readers of this blog who are local will come down on Friday, March 22! I think it’s going to be a fun night!

Quick post because since we are so public with our motorcycle lives, trips and oh just about everything…I feel the need to make one post about WHY we bought BMW’s versus Triumph’s. This will be my only post as I really do not feel the need to overly justify how we spend our money. But since receiving quite a few emails, messages etc saying our credibility is in question about how I express my opinions and reviews I feel the need.
Where in the world were we when these pictures were taken?
Watch two wicked tricked out Triumph Tiger 800XC bikes do crazy stuff….ICON video! Like a little movie! Pretty good! You need to make time and sit through this whole video…seriously, a little corny at the beginning but there are amazing shots of this bike and the riders doing incredible things with a large ADV bike!
ICON Motosport challenged Triumph’s Tiger 800XC and riders Nick Brocha and Ernie Vigil with its grueling “Portland to Dakar” challenge. Beginning in the urban confines of Portland’s city limits, the Tiger 800XCs took both riders and their gear to the very limits of endurance with miles of asphalt, vertical faces of rock, endless stretches of soft sand and deep snow, plus more water landings than a Pacific campaign. The term dual-sport failed to even remotely describe their journey.
Anyone know where this is from?
If this is true from the Triumph Facebook page and also thanks to markbvt & walker from the Triumph Tiger 800 Forum, then I know Cheryl & I waited for a reason to see what Triumph would do with this great bike. Now…did they or will they add handlebar controls and ambient temperature with on/off ABS button????
Tubeless spoke tires? Notice the loss of the Nissin brakes and the fact Triumph has join the band wagon using BREMBO??? BMW uses Brembo brakes. I would say in my remedial knowledge this is a step up.
Triumph has been listening! Good on Triumph! Apparently this was indeed at the show in Italy…so, the next question is this a real release bike or just for show? Any thoughts? Comments, opinions??
***I believe that some folks from Triumph might be still be reading this BLOG…why not post comments to them…who knows they might read this post! ;-)***
