BALD EAGLE HEAVEN!

November 24th & 25th 2012 (click on pics for BIGGER high resolution versions)

One thing that I do alone because Cheryl does not share this passion is every year I go out to Harrison Mills, BC to see the almighty Majestic Bald Eagle. I also ride out each year as well.  On Saturday I counted 10 other bikes on the road, today only 1.  Temps started out at 2 C or 34 F and got as high as 7 C or 44 F.  Best time of year to ride, heated liner, gloves, good base gear, BUFF hoodie under my helmet and good socks.  Awesome!

Since joining BC Transplant last January I really enjoy my time away from work.  When we are busy managing cases for work it’s easy to put in 30 hours straight.  The time I get to ride for fun and engage in my hobby like eagle watching is rare while off call.  This was a great weekend!

2013 F800GS Late Fall Ride

More eagles today at Harrison Mills, BC.  More dead salmon, got to ride my bike for fun…some sun, some rain but in the end a good day and great day to turn the heat on.  Thanks to my heated liner and gloves!

Evolution of a Custom Seat Part II

Still have NOT been on the bike long enough to form an honest opinion and will try to get a 500 KM trip in someday soon.  This is what Janice did to my Renazco seat from my BMW 650GS.  Trimmed the width by the nose and added a gel pad…Once I get some seat time I will let Janice as well as everyone else know what I think of the “new” and improved level of comfort.

Some are DISAPPOINTED in US!

Quick post because since we are so public with our motorcycle lives, trips and oh just about everything…I feel the need to make one post about WHY we bought BMW’s versus Triumph’s.  This will be my only post as I really do not feel the need to overly justify how we spend our money.  But since receiving quite a few emails, messages etc saying our credibility is in question about how I express my opinions and reviews I feel the need.

Pictures of the Day

Got my bike last Saturday and just hit over 700 KM…first service scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27.  Some pictures after I picked up my stock tires.  We had Heidenau K60′s installed before we both picked up our bikes and sold both sets of Anakee’s to a nice Triumph Tiger owner. ;-)

Pictures of the Day

While I just got my bike last Saturday, I have spent my week off from work running around trying to get the bike set up for anything.  Cheryl’s bike has crash bars, risers, and a head light protector waiting for her to have the time to install them. ;-) Oh, and I need my risers installed too…HINT! ;-)

I was fortunate to be able to ride down to AltRider in Seattle and have them graciously install my bars and light guard.  Today, I went to see Janice aka Slim who will be working on my Renazco seat off my 650.  Janice will try to customize my seat with foam trimming and adding a gel pad.  WE are hoping to drop my seat height by 1/2 inch from the OEM low seat.  Cross you fingers this works.
