Paul from Touratech thoughts on the New 2013 BMW F800GS

Thursday, 29 November 2012 12:46 Paul Guillien and Staff
I really like how Paul describes this bike of ours.  I agree with everything he says and although we have not taken this bike off road yet I know we agree with his assessment as well. When he states the bike has a lean look that is one thing we LOVE about the BMW.
I should and probably will review the BMW 650, Triumph Tiger 800XC and compare it to the new BMW F800.

Paul Guillien, Touratech-USA’s General Manager, shares his thoughts on BMW’s updated mid-weight adventure bike, the 2013 F800GS. Continue reading

More eagles today at Harrison Mills, BC.  More dead salmon, got to ride my bike for fun…some sun, some rain but in the end a good day and great day to turn the heat on.  Thanks to my heated liner and gloves!

2013 BMW F800GS WHITE – Cheryl’s arrives

Exciting day for Cheryl as she got the paperwork done on her new F800GS.  Me, Leslie being conservative looks at our garage and thinks….”HOLY, we need to get rid of some bikes!”  Have a look!

As usual all pics can be click for LARGER sizes.

Very hard to concentrate this week on work. We have a BIG garage sale coming up this weekend and we need to take some things off my bike, get it cleaned up and listed.  Cheryl also wants to see if our Jesse Luggage Mounts fit on her 800.  So far our BMW hand guards seem to NOT fit so we may have to modify them.  Touratech are not ready for this bike yet regarding hand guards so something has changed.  Continue reading

Departure Day, Thunder, Lightning, and some precipitation

Re-blogging my own post to just remind everyone we are taking off today for a couple of weeks. Blog will be update when we can and if you want you can take a look at our GPS track live as we figure out where we are going on this trip other than Rigby, ID.

On our trip will be using our SPOT Connect for tracking purposes. This is so useful for our friends and family to keep an eye on us while traveling and in way easy on us so we do not have to make phone calls. So, feel free as I say follow the bouncing ball and see where we are. From July 12-16 we will be camping out while attending the KLIM Adventure rally. The SPOT will not be activated at that time but before, July 9th and after see where we go because we have no idea where we are heading after KLIM.

See our other SPOT adventures here: SPOT PAGE

SPOT KLIM ADVENTURE TRIP and then WHO KNOWS LINK!

If at anytime the SPOT is not sending out our GPS coordinates please feel free to comment here. We do not always check to see if the SPOT is working. Thanks.

BMW F800GS & F700GS – WHAT do you think? Enough of a change?

New for 2013, BMW has announced the changes to the 800GS and now the 700GS which will replace the 650GS twin.  The “new” 700 still has an 800cc engine but more HP, 75.  Is this enough of a change to sway potential Triumph 800XC and Roadie buyers?

Check out BMW FB page here for more pics

First up the 800GS and the changes.  No different seat option which is what we were hoping for but seems they have made it so it can be lowered.  I for one would not want to lower the 800 but I will need to sit on one to see how my short inseam would fit.  New colours too.

Watch OUT Costco

Don’t get too excited…I am trying to learn iMovie 11 as well as this new Mac.  We made the switch a week or so ago and I sux at editing no less learning iMovie which to me is way more advanced than Live Movie Maker on a PC.  This is just for fun and the good part is that we actually got to go out for a fun ride today even though it was just to do chores.  ;-)

MXTV Exclusive BMW G650 GS Sertao Launch and Ride

There is something about this single that we both really like.

We were lucky enough to tag along recently for the launch of BMW’s new G650 GS Sertao, then head out for a ride through some of Australia’s most testing conditions. Tagging along were none other than Marco Melandri, BMW Motorad Team Director Bernhard Gobmeier and Aussie SBK champ Glenn Allerton

Cool video just showing how much fun this bike is out in Australia!
