DOG/GOD = Great Outdoors!

I am very rarely at a loss of words but when it comes to attending my first dog memorial I seem to be.  I have tried to write this post numerous times but it never came out right.  So, what I have done is post pictures of this special day in February, made a video as tribute to my friend/colleague Sandi and a quote Sandi said to me….I was honored and really touched.  We have three dogs and will inevitably experience this loss.

This is a special post…please scroll down, take a look at the pictures and read the little story.  Then, pay tribute and watch the short video.  Best in HD and wide screen.  I know many of the readers of this BLOG can relate.  The love we have for our pets is a very personal relationship but in the end I think we all feel the same way when they have to leave us. Cheryl Paying Respect Standing Guard Tonight

I never really tell Cheryl enough how proud I am of her especially when I see her in the RCMP Serge.  It’s sad to think tonight she is not celebrating in dress but standing guard for one of her colleagues who was killed last week while working.  Constable Adrian Oliver, such a young man and short career has come to an end so suddenly.

Getting ready for her shift

Despite Death Toll, Motorcycle Groups Strive to Muzzle U.S. Regulators

Anti-helmet law demonstrators in recent rally at state capitol in Albany, N.Y. (Skip Dickstein / Albany Times Union)

This always a heated debate…I think it’s simple….DO you, yourself think you are IMPORTANT and should take every precaution to minimize RISKS?  Who cares about laws and politics…WHY would anyone NOT want to protect their own BODY as best as they can?????? AM I missing something??????

IMPORTANT ARTICLE AND AS USUAL CONTRAVERSIAL! BUT WHY?????? WHY WOULD ANYONE NOT WEAR A HELMET?  FOR THOSE OUT THERE WHO DO NOT WEAR PROPER GEAR DO YOU DRIVE YOUR CAR WITHOUT WEARING A SEAT BELT?

WASHINGTON – In a highly touted safety achievement, deaths on the nation’s roads and highways have fallen sharply in recent years, to the lowest total in more than a half-century. But motorcyclists have missed out on that dramatic improvement, and the news for them has been increasingly grim.

DOGS!

Gentle

What can you say about dogs?  Well, before moving to Canada I, meaning Leslie was a cat person.  Since meeting Cheryl we have a house full of dogs now.  Large, medium and small in size and all have such different personalities.  I can never imagine our lives without a dog now.  Some say they unconditionally love you.  I disagree.  They love you if you care for them and love them back.  The condition is just respect and mutual affection.

Once again Gary from AK has shared these pics with us and have ended up on our BLOG because if you have been following us you know we LOVE our bikes but we LOVE dogs, wildlife and LIFE.  Thanks again Gary and BTW your calendar you and Deb sent us is prominently hanging on our wall!

We hope you find the joy in these pics, the sadness and devotion both man and dog have for one another.  Each tells its own story! Continue reading

Dakar Highlights Stage 1

Having issues trying to find a way to watch a live feed of the race while in New York and I imagine we will run into the same problems when we get back to Canada.  So, the Tube is helping with highlights.  One unfortunate death has happened all ready which from what I hear happens every year, someone does die.  Hard to imagine going down there knowing that the odds of not going home are pretty substantial.

There is an app too for your phones…we have not downloaded this app but if you do please comment how it works.
