My younger brother is gay. Gay as laughter. Gay as the day is long. One of the finest moments in my life, and one of the greatest compliments anyone has ever paid me, was the day he felt safe to come out to me. He’s in his mid-30s now, but he’ll always be my little brother. And man, I love that kid.

we, as in Cheryl and myself are sort of going through the same thing just religion has not been brought into the picture. Just that someone close does not believe Cheryl and I should get married...they are "against" it. That hurts but opinions are opinions.

It's only been a matter of time, really. So far, in my life,  I have witnessed a slow progression of rational thought winning out over pathetic, sleazy, and out-dated ideology. Recently, there have been several huge boosts, it seems, to the Gay Rights Movement. Dan Savage's "It Gets Better" project took off like no one expected, "Don't Ask Don't Tell" was removed, and hell, even the President of the United States finally came out in favour of gay marriage.

Sunshine Coast, Riding & Our Wedding Journey!

May 5-7 2012

Once again there are twists and turns in the life of Cheryl & Leslie.  After 15 years as many who read this blog Cheryl proposed to Leslie and we are going to get hitched next summer 2013.  Yep, in Canada we too can join the sector of marriage and it’s legal.  I know this is a hot topic for many but at this point in our lives and careers we really have little patience for those who struggle with any two people who love each other and want to show their commitment in whatever fashion they choose.

SFPD “It gets better” video

Bullying needs to become OBSOLETE!  Too many wasted lives over sexuality, confusion and BULLYING!  This is so well done and we would like to CONGRATULATE the SFPD for putting this together.  I can see Cheryl doing something like this for the RCMP one day!

Mayor Lee & Chief Suhr Unveil First of its Kind LGBT Youth Video.

The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) along with Mayor Ed Lee is proud to announce the debut of the “SFPD It Gets Better” video project as part of the nationwide campaign to end bullying of LGBT youth. The video provides a message of transformation, hope and encouragement to LGBT yo…uth that it does get better. The SFPD is the first and only Police Department in the country to produce a video for the campaign.

“It Gets Better” is a nationwide project, that offers support and encouragement to youth who are struggling with their sexual identity or bullied for being “different.” These messages of hope let young people know that they are not alone and that help is available.

Taking a chance here!

Not trying to get political or even stir the pot….but this video is such a great display of relationships and love that I feel the need to share it.  Congrats to the Australians for putting this together but having said that…such a shame in this day and age we even question or criticize relationships between anyone who truly loves another.  Sorry for the break in adventure action but like I have said this is a BLOG about many things including raising awareness.

It’s TIME!
