The new Contour +2 versus Contour +1, Contour GPS and Contour Roam. We own the Contour +1, has a jack for an external mic which works well except all the cables we have for the mic.
You have to wire yourself. Our camera is not waterproof but water resistant. The new +2 apparently is like the Roam with waterproofing built in as well as the external mic jack. Oiy…these cameras keep coming out even trying to out do themselves.
Our new bucket list destination to ride is Iceland. I have posted about this beautiful country before and here is another spectacular video showing off all that Iceland has to offer. What a place just begging to be explored via a bike….the new Alaska?????

I know this is an advertisement for GlobeBusters but their Promo trailer is so good and really highlights why we all ADV ride. It’s well done too…watch the whole thing there is a really cool part to this….
I have posted this video once before and I have never met the creator of this BEAUTIFUL Timelapse video of Iceland. The reason I am re posting it is see below. This is news to us as we own the Contour + camera presently. For our trip this summer we used the Contour HD 1080p and the regular Contour HD. When we got back we were offered a free upgrade to the plus if we traded in our 1080p camera. That was a no brainer for me.
Not sure if we will dive right into this technology but can you imagine the doors this will open while someone is on an adventure? Cheryl and I talked about doing a live broadcast from the road to answer questions etc….but this might be even better. I am not really a technologically gifted person hence to no live feed when we were on the road but it would have been easy to do via U Stream now that I think about it.
Anyone out there…would you use something like this???
Again a TRULY amazing video in SLOW motion/HD….make it as wide as you can……

We use the Contour + HD cam and I swear these professionally edited videos makes me always think this one has to be better…but I think if we all could edit like this video perhaps the cam we all use could look so good…am I wrong?
Shot 100% on the new HD HERO2® camera from http://GoPro.com. Continue reading
I know it seems I post a lot of videos…but when you come across some of the VIMEO videos out there and the talent that is only known to a few…I feel I have to do what I can to help promote such quality productions. As many who read this BLOG are adventurers and get to explore the back country I hope you appreciate this video. I hope you have a computer with an HD monitor…go wide too.
A truly imaginative video that will leave you feeling good,

Just got my external Mic so I will have to test out the camera with the mic connected. This was a test run on my way home from work. The new camera has a 170 degree view but I do notice a little bending of trees etc when you look at the edges of the video. Our other camera used on this trip was the Contour GPS version and HD1080p with 135 degrees. The mic out of the box is not bad regarding wind noise and video quality I think is fantastic. Looking forward to see how I can use the external mic while traveling. Could have been cool to have this feature on our summer trip. Better late then never though. This was a free upgrade offered to me when we were on the road but could only take advantage of it when we got back.
Here is the TEST video…and only a test.
