This is a really good video about the KTM 300 EXC engine and some amazing riding!
What bike has caught our attention in a big way? What is this machine?
Tenerife, Canary Islands—KTM has a problem: It’s called the 1190 Adventure. As the Austrian company forges ahead to become a complete player with a comprehensive model range, it continues diving into the streetbike pool with Adventures, Dukes, SM-Ts and RC8s. And now, with its brand-new 2014 (in the U.S.) 1190 Adventure, KTM is making a huge, cannonball-style splash in the pool of high-performance streetbikes. Never before has the company had a bike so mainstream, so capable of going head-to-head with all of the players in the adventure-touring market. But since it’s not competing strictly for the hardcore off-road buyer, the 1190 Adventure represents a bit of a problem in that, as KTM continues to grow, some of its motocross- and off-road oriented dealers will have to step it up and come to grips with the company’s increasingly complex (albeit more balanced) model range. Just another WICKED advertisement from KTM….I mean wicked!
The new KTM 1190 Adventure was made to make every meter ridden into an Adventure. It starts the moment you jump on, and bring that outstanding engine to life! The only thing you need is some self control! Addicts beware! Time and Space have little relevance on the ride this Adventure takes you. Your horizon is set to be expanded!
Now it’s your turn.
LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR….LET THE NEW MODELS COME OUT!
The very German folks at Motorrad have gotten a chance to swing a leg over the pre-production version of the upcoming 2013 KTM 1190 Adventure R. Avoiding a conversation about how motorcycle publications are starting to look more like the outsourced marketing departments of motorcycle OEMs, what is perhaps the second most interesting thing from the article are the details about the Austrian company’s newest offering to the adventure-touring crowd. There had been a lot of focus on the outstanding achievements of our sponsored racers this year, with good reason due to their incredible results (Graham Jarvis, Lyndon Poskitt and Stan Watt), so now their various expeditions are in progress we thought we’d switch the focus to our supported Adventure Riders
We took the BMW R1200GS, Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere, Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 and KTM 990 Adventure on an off-road adventure and to really test their abilities, we enlisted Stan Watt, who finished 34th in this year’s Dakar Rally.

This is a really good video showing 2 riders who are just regular guys enjoying a Yamaha Super Tenere and a KTM 990. Wes is funny about riding the Yamaha off road. This is really worth watching the entire video….one of the better one’s out there I think because they actually show a dump and accident. Real stuff. Enjoy.
Both Yamaha and KTM have dominated the legendary Dakar races for decades. Wes and Grant do their best not to fly off a ridge while taking the KTM 990 Adventure and Yamaha Super Ténéré deep into the Angeles National Forest’s system of fire roads, trails and creeks. There is nothing like knowing the owner of a company that makes some really top-notch accessories for ADV bikes. Dave from Motooverland aka MOD not only is a great rider himself that tests all of his gear but a really nice guy in general. I rode with him all day at the Dual Sport BC Spring ride on Sunday, March 25th, 2012 and what a respectful leader of a group that was a big as 8 at one time. Dave lives in Vancouver, BC and takes his time developing key items for bikes that make sense and lasts. His skid plate, newly re-released tool box, side stand foot print and rear rack are perfect accessories for your bike. Have a look at his website
and see for yourself. If you have any questions Dave is good to answer them and he ships all over the place. See video!
